Envoy is a tremendously long bull, that showcases an incredible combination of volume and style. Heavily pigmented and smooth polled, loaded with performance and a quiet disposition, we thought it only fitting to bring Envoy to the National Trust to represent our 2012 bullpen. Envoy is a full brother to APLX ENSIGN 2X that we presented a year ago. Ensign turned plenty of heads both at the Trust and at the Red Deer Bull Sale in March, when he sold as the high-selling Fullblood to Langer Fleckvieh for $8,000.
Their dam DLD Lady Western 48R, is a tremendous King Arthur x Sim Roc C&B Western cow, that has consistently produced outstanding offspring. In order to provide some exclusivity and to allow these exciting young herd bulls to be developed, she is bred a different direction for 2012 and plan to continue to do so in the future. Based on her track record, Lady should probably be flushed at some point, but we would hate to take her out of regular production.
The sire, Dora Lee’s Equinox, is a young, homozygous polled performance bull that is in development at Dora Lee in Ontario. An Eclipse son, he is throwing slightly bigger calves than his sire, but more than making up for it in the performance department. We have helped establish a proof on Equinox, and judged by his results to date, we think he will leave a tremendous mark on the industry.
At the National Trust on November 4, 2011, Envoy was selected for the sale, and sold to Lone Stone Farms / Lonnie & Karen Brown, Westlock Alberta for $7,500. We wintered Envoy and delivered him to Lonnie & Karen just prior to their bull sale. We look forward to seeing Envoy crossed with the great walking cows at Lone Stone.
Awesome website, and great looking animals. Hope to attend this years Red Deer bull sale, also looking forward to what Envoy can add to the Brown’s very fine herd.
