Bonita is a heifer that we never planned to sell. As many people are aware, Jeanne and I each get ‘vetoes’ each year, and Bonita was mine. This dark red tank of a heifer was destined to replace her dam here at Applecross, but after suggesting that Jeanne also needed to let some favourites sell, turnabout became pretty bitter. We think Bonita has the potential to be a ‘special one’; backed by a unique pedigree that combines some my favourite ‘old’ with the new modern twist of Battleborn, all wrapped up in a polled package. Front pasture / Cornerstone / Foundation female / Donor in the making. Pick your preferred phrase, we think Bonita has a world of potential. ‘Outcross polled’ is hard to find, so take a long hard look at the beauty that is Bonita.
