Full Fleckvieh. We thought it only fitting to start our 2020 Equation offering with a bred heifer out of our popular ‘P-Line’ in Paprika. She is a load, and our easiest keeping heifer. We have six P females working here, a seventh vetoed by Jeanne for 2022 calving, and our junior herd sire in APLX Wedge, that all originate with our foundation acquisition of Spruceburn Pauline in 2009. Together they have had progeny top both our Equation (Penny, Pippa) and Red Deer Bull Sale Strings (Wrangler). On the sire side, Eclipse daughters have done very well for us, and have also gone on to produce high end progeny for their successful buyers. Eclipse semen is now extremely rare, so we anticipate very few opportunities to present an Eclipse daughter in the future. Please note that while Paprika is genetically double polled, and tested hetero polled, she does exhibit the scurred gene; with small scurs being uncovered during clipping for her sale picture.
