Every once in a while, we like to reach deep into our tank and re-introduce a classic Fleckvieh sire into our AI rotation. JB Dr. Duke was a highly maternal bull that left some high quality daughters in herds across Canada, so we thought he’d be a neat cross on one of our most popular cow families. Duke is a maternal brother to both Applecross Paris who was selected by OK Farms at 2021 Equation and Applecross Pippa who was acquired by Starwest Farms in 2017. He is also the maternal half brother to APLX Wedge 4E, who has five sons on offer for Red Deer 2022. Duke should go on to produce highly consistent calves on both sides of the ledger.
